The Joy of Fishes
07:25
|
|||
I open up my mouth
Sounds come out and fill the air
These sounds rush blindly on a speeding wave
To any ears that might be waiting there
They enter on both sides of your head
And there they tickle tiny hairs
Now replaced by tiny little sparks
Rushing onward to the part of you that cares
I have nothing to say...
These sparks continue 'til they've reached your brain
Where each one touches the proper nerve
Which triggers one of a vast multitude of memories
That have been waiting there to serve
Now I ask you to suspend your disbelief
I know the next part sounds absurd
It seems that after all these things have happened
You now perceive I've spoken words
I have nothing to say...
Your brain relates these sounds that I've made
To things you've seen and done before
An intricate and private inner world of symbols
A giant sea with bits of flotsam on the shore
But your symbols don't mean anything to me
I've quite a large set of my own
And yet out of our desperate need for understanding
This crazy system of sounds and symbols has somehow grown
I have nothing to say...

In the Morning
04:49
|
|||
I get up in the morning
Ready for another day, fine, fine
Brush my teeth, take a shower
Take a shower
It's OK, it's alright
Leave it, forget it, nevermind
I go down in the evening
Pissed away another day, fine, fine
It's OK, it's alright
Leave it, forget it, nevermind
I'm only learning, sometimes discerning
This thing or that thing that gets in my way
It seems unlikely that somehow despite me
I'll learn anything this way
I'm alive when I'm sleeping
Breathing in and breathing out, fine, fine
Sometimes dreams show me something

Spiderwebs & Feathers
06:25
|
|||
Memory will fade away
In time, all gone, like tears in rain
I have lived ten thousand days
Ten thousand times they've slipped away
Can't see them come, can't see them go away
All of you, so dear to me
I'll lose you all to memory

Clean
03:03
|
|||
Can't you see it's alright?
Can you see at all?
Can't you see it's just fine?
Close your eyes
Don't let it concern you
No reason for alarm
Why should this affect you?
You're not to blame
You've got troubles of your
Own to fret about
The world is full of suffering
It can't be helped
Save your tender mercies
For those who love you too
Keep yourself dry and warm and clean
Try to stay clean

The Host
05:12
|

I'm here, everyone can see
My flesh, in a fixed quantity
Charged with electricity
My stuff moves around constantly
Does my matter even matter?
These sparks will go out someday
My flesh will fall down and decay

3 Lbs. of Meat
05:26
|
|||
There's something small inside my head
Assuring me that I'm not dead
Three pounds of meat give it a home
A sly and furtive little gnome
I know the way
I don't know the way
It's been with me right from the start
I know someday it will depart
It makes a vile, revolting mess
I guess they call it consciousness
I know the way
I don't know the way

A Cure for Apathy
06:44
|
|||
Nothing's real...
It's all real...
I can't rely on the truth of my senses any more than you can
Nevertheless there are things that demand our attention
There are powers we've been trained not to see,
Spreading horror and fear all around us while apathy eats us alive
War is here...
Pain is real...
No one cares...
Over and over and over...
One bright day...
We may see...
A time when all of us finally come to our senses
And put aside all these filthy lying pretenses
And maybe we'll cease to ignore all the carnage around us
Maybe there will come a time, in time, time

The Globs Boston, Massachusetts
Hailing from Boston, USA, The Globs are a mischievous bunch known for their ironic and quirky brand of indie rock. Sticking to a philosophy of never repeating themselves, their 3rd album "Hit You With Your Own Fantastic" is a pop voyage through a funhouse of anomalous sardonic themes and millennial anthems. ... more
